Why Detroit
Michigan has its own Medicare landscape — different Advantage networks, different Medigap pricing, different drug formularies. Detroit retirees who use one of the big call-center brokerages often end up with whatever plan pays the broker most. We're independent — we'll show you the trade-offs honestly and let you choose. If Original Medicare + Plan G is right for you, we'll tell you. If a $0-premium Advantage plan fits better, we'll tell you that too.
How we help
Initial Enrollment (Turning 65)
Your 7-month IEP window — we walk you through Part A, Part B, Part D, and the Medigap-vs-Advantage decision before your birthday month.
Annual Election Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7)
Yearly review of your current plan. Networks change. Formularies change. Your needs change. We re-shop the market each fall.
Medicare Supplement Plans
Plan G, Plan N, Plan F (if eligible), and High-Deductible G. Side-by-side comparison with real Michigan rates.
Switching Plans
Already on Advantage and wondering about Supplement? We'll explain underwriting rules, the one-time switch windows, and what could go wrong.
Hospital Indemnity, Cancer/Heart/Stroke, DVH
Extra coverage that fills gaps Medicare leaves behind. We'll show you when these supplements make sense and when they don't.
Frequently asked questions
I'm turning 65 next year — when should I contact you?+
Three months before your 65th birthday. That's when your Initial Enrollment Period opens. We can start the conversation earlier — there's no harm in being prepared.
Does it cost me anything to use a Medicare agent?+
No. Medicare agents are compensated by the insurance carriers, not by you. Your premium is identical whether you enroll directly with the carrier or through an independent agent. The agent guidance is free.
I'm already on Medicare Advantage. Can I switch to Original Medicare + Supplement?+
Sometimes — but it depends on underwriting. There are specific windows where switching is guaranteed-issue. Outside those windows, you may need to qualify medically. We'll walk through your options before you commit to anything.
Do you work with all the major Michigan Medicare carriers?+
Yes — we're independent and contracted with most major Medicare insurance carriers serving Michigan. We compare across the market, not within one company.
Can you help with Medicaid + Medicare (dual eligibility)?+
Yes. Dual-eligible plans (D-SNPs) have specific rules and coordination requirements. We help Detroit residents who qualify navigate the program.
